Food is Life
Over the last decades, society's perception of food has drastically changed. Even though we are aware of the benefits that sharing quality meals with our loved ones provide, the fast pace of today's world is contributing to the expansion of pre-cooked meals.
First of all, it is essential to bear in mind that up until recently the time dedicated to eat meals was considered a bonding activity. That is, eating together with family or friends should still be considered a sharing experience in which relationships are strengthened. In addition, food is not only considered important from an individual point of view as in many countries it plays a key role in the creation of the national identity. A clear example of this can be witnessed in Spain, a country divided by many political issues but united by a shared love and pride for national dishes.
On the contrary, the spread of TV dinners is contributing to the detriment of quality food. The way we consume food is extremely linked to the way we live. For that reason, even though convenience food is unhealthy and in many cases, tasteless, it is becoming an easy solution for many people who do not have enough time or energy to cook a meal from scratch. Nevertheless, these people are not only hurting their own bodies, but they are also missing out on the joy that cocking for others provide.
All in all, our changing realities are affecting the way we consume food, but we should protect the traditions that enables us to work on our relationships and protect our own culture whilst leading healthy lifestyles.

Does this exercise appear in all C2 exams? Sorry but I'm kind of new and I don't know how the writing part works.

DeleteYes this kind of exercise appear in all Cambridge C2 exams. This task appear in the first part of the writing task and I believe it was first included this year. But now all Cambridge Proficiency exams include these "essay" tasks.
You need to bear in mind that you will need to read two texts about the same topic of around 100 words each, take the main ideas from both of them and write a 240-280 word essay using also your own ideas.
