Flying away
If you had the opportunity to ask your ten year-old self what would they love to do in the future, would their answer reflect your current situation? I am glad to say that in my case I am living my dream of living abroad, but it took a lot of work and courage to get where I am.
Travelling and foreign countries have always been on my radar. Since I was a little child, I dreamt of travelling the world and get to live in a big city away from my small town. However, the path I had to follow was filled with stones and unexpected issues. When you are born in a remote village lost in the mountains, you can not simply decide to go away. Only after many discussions and working my way up in my father’s business, was I able to save enough money to start a life abroad.
Taking risks has never scared me or kept me from doing anything. But the idea of starting from scratch in a far away country where I knew nobody kept me awake the week before my departure. Nevertheless, I have always believed that in order to achieve your goals you need to take some risks, even if they scare you to death. Nonetheless, now I can confidently say that I do not regret taking the risks that lead me to live where I am.
As people say, nothing ventured, nothing gained. That is why I encourage everybody to take risks and get out of their comfort zone. The worst that can happen is that you stay the same, but in return you can way so much more than you imagine. Trust yourself and you will see that destiny will be on your side.
