The head has asked you to write a proposal on what facilities and forms of entertainment the students would like to see introduced, based on a project you organize yourself to find out the opinions of students. Within your proposal, you should explain how you gathered the opinions and make recommendations as to what should be introduced and what benefits would result.

New College Facilities and Entertainment

Introduction

This proposal addresses the issue raised by the head master regarding the new facilities and forms of entertainment our students would like to see introduced in our high school. As a student representative I have gathered the opinions of fellow students via an online survey in order to make a proposal with their ideas. 

New Facilities

Most students agreed that our school is very well provided sport-wise, but there is a lack of spaces devoted to art and science. For that reason, the vast majority of the student body suggested the opening of a theatre in the old gym, and the improvement of the science department, as most of the material is quite obsolete and needs some upgrading. 

New Forms of Entertainment

Hand in hand with the above mentioned, students feel that the lack of investment on the art department is responsible for the absence of entertainment options offered by the school. In addition to offering more activities related to theatre, students also mentioned the necessity of allowing the creation of some new clubs such as a chess club or a fencing club. 

Recommendations

The main worries regarding these issues at the school had to do with the unbalanced way in which sports are supported while the other fields are left aside. For that reason, it could be said that the school needs to make a drastic change in the way they address this other aspects of the educational activity as students are only encouraged to develop their physical abilities and not their creative or mental ones. 

Conclusion

After considering the results acquired via the online survey, I strongly believe that introducing different clubs and improving the science and art departments will make a difference for the school. Because students need to have different options and investing in these fields will improve their experience and motivate them to try something new.
